kashgar

flew into kashgar from urumqi and it was HOT so we immediately adopted the desert siesta system - explored the streets until 2pm and then retreated to our room at the qinibargh hotel until the evening. the street scenes are great - street vendors fanning the coals for kebabs while the rest of the family are up to their elbows in heaps of meat, threading it onto skewers. smells delicious. bagels and naan bread ready for purchase. fruit and drinks for sale. donkey carts, tractor vehicles, bikes and cars zip in and out of pedestrians.

How wonderful to get an update!! We have been checking regularly to see if you would find some way to utilize modern technology to keep us informed of your travels. In other news - my Dad became a great grandfather today with the birth of Simon Flinn's son at 2.30am. Great news.

Okay, so Kashgar was hot. Did anything else happen?
