a blast from the past
last weekend we were working away, sanding and painting the twenty year old outdoor furniture - which now looks like this, as good as new - when we heard the faint strains of music. it was greensleeves, played as only a mr whippy van can play it. blast from the past! adrian raced in, grabbed some money and shot off down to the street. the music kept getting closer but then stopping - obviously half the residents of griffith were seized by the same insane urge to buy an icecream from the back of a van.
well, it turned out to be from the side of a van and it wasn't mr whippy but a pink look-alike with highly inflated prices. $12 for a sundae!! adrian thinks he got the kiddy cones, which were gigantic. glad he didn't go for the double as i ended up giving part of mine to a passing magpie. just as well because now that i look closer i can see that mr pinky isn't wearing hygienic gloves. tut tut! he is, however thinking of oh&s issues by wearing ear plugs to stop greensleeves from driving him insane.
wonder if the van will make a return visit.....or was it all just a dream?
